Chrysler / Dodge “Keyless GO” proximity systems was first introduced on the 2009 Dodge Challenger as optional upgrades. Then expanded on to the 2011-13 Dodge Durango & Jeep Grand Cherokee just to mention some. These vehicles have a removable “Push to Start” button. The button snaps into place and is easily removed to expose a Fobik ignition switch hidden behind it. When the proximity Fobik remote is recognized inside the vehicle - the driver can press on the brake pedal and press the “Start” button to start and stop the engine.

The Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) Module on your vehicle: It reads the chip in the key and sends that information to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) If the information matches the one stored in the PCM, the PCM sends a response signal validating it's the correct key and the vehicle is allowed to start.
